U.S. Rep. Ken Buck joined all of Colorado’s Democratic U.S. House members in voting Tuesday for the successful ouster of Speaker Kevin McCarthy — a first in congressional history.
The Republican from California lost a 216-210 vote to vacate the speaker’s chair, with eight hard-right Republicans, including Buck, joining 208 Democrats. The vote was prompted by discord within the Republican caucus that reached a climax over the weekend over McCarthy’s decision to work with Democrats to keep the federal government open, averting a shutdown.
Here is how Colorado’s House delegation voted Tuesday afternoon on the motion to oust McCarthy:

- Lauren Boebert, R-Silt: No
- Ken Buck, R-Windsor: Yes
- Doug Lamborn, R-Colorado Springs: No
- Jason Crow, D-Aurora: Yes
- Brittany Pettersen, D-Lakewood: Yes
- Yadira Caraveo, D-Thornton: Yes
