Gorgeous island one of the world’s most beautiful everyone should visit in 2024

A gorgeous little island in Italy has been named one of the most beautiful spots in the world. Burano was included in a list of the most Instagrammable places to visit by experts at Faraway Furniture.

The island in the Venetian Lagoon has a population of around 2,800 and is linked to Mazzorbo by a wooden footbridge.

It has brightly coloured homes, which follow a specific system that requires permission from the government before painting. The island is considered among the most colourful places in the world.

It is also known for its fine needle-lace work which began when Venice couldn’t meet demand in the 1500s. Burano lace gained fame and was a status symbol for wealthy Europeans. There is a popular lace museum that visitors can explore.

There are also a number of shops as well as restaurants and cafes along the main high street, many of which sell seafood.

Other places to explore in the Venetian Lagoon are Murano, known for its glass-making; Mazzaro, a favourite among artists; and Torcello, home to the oldest church in Venice.
