Evacuations ordered in brush fire burning in Cherry Creek State Park – The Denver Post

AURORA — A brush fire burning in a wetlands area at Cherry Creek State Park has forced evacuations in the area.

Evacuations are in effect for residents in the immediate area west of Parker Road and people inside Cherry Creek State Park.

This is the second major brush fire crews are fighting amid strong wind gusts in the metro area. A 100-acre grass fire burning near Bear Creek Lake Park and Fox Hollow Golf Course near Morrison prompted evacuations Sunday afternoon. The majority of the fire was out by late afternoon.
