The family of a 22-year old with "boundless energy and generous spirit” have paid tribute to him following his unimaginable death.
Connor Borthwick died due to serious injuries that he suffered during a horrific accident at an industrial site in Blackburn, Lancashire on November 25.
Firefighters and ambulance crews were initially called to the site just before 3pm after reports Mr Bothwick had become trapped inside a machine.
Rescue services tried to free him using a high-pressure airbag but later died from his injuries.
Now Connor's family have shared a heartbreaking tribute, in which they said he 'enriched their lives beyond measure and the lives of anyone he met.
A statement released by police read: “Our son and brother, Connor, was a light that shone brightly, if only for 22 years.
“His boundless energy and generous spirit enriched the lives of whoever he met. He loved his friends and family. We have been overwhelmed by the love and support we have received since his death.
“It is a real testament to the way he touched so many people’s lives in a positive way and enriched ours beyond measure. We will miss him so much.”
In a statement, Lancashire Fire and Rescue said they were the first on the scene of the tragic incident.
A spokesperson said: “At 2.47pm on 25 November, three fire engines from Blackburn and Chorley attended a rescue of a person on Bruce Street, Blackburn.

"One casualty had become trapped in machinery.
"Firefighters used a high-pressure airbag to release the casualty before they were placed in the care of North West Ambulance Service (NWAS) paramedics.
"Crews remained in attendance for approximately two and a half hours.”
The police said that they had also attended the scene and have launched a joint investigation into the incident with the health and safety executive.

A Lancashire Police spokesperson said: “We were called by the ambulance service at shortly before 3pm yesterday to a report of an industrial accident on business premises on Bruce Street, in Blackburn, where a man in his 20s had suffered serious injuries.
“Sadly, those injuries proved fatal.
“Our thoughts are with the man’s family and friends at this time.
“We are in the early stages of a joint investigation into the circumstances with our colleagues from the Health and Safety Executive and those enquiries are ongoing.”
