A 'Grinch for Hire' service has spoken out after being mistaken for the group involved in a home visit that reportedly trashed a mum's home.
The company falsely came under fire when a viral post on Facebook showed distraught mum Laura Magill, from Northern Ireland, detailing how she spent £85 on a Grinch visit that allegedly destroyed her house in the process.
If all went to plan, the visit would have included the Grinch having a pillow fight, putting toilet roll around the Christmas tree, and posing for photos with the kids at the end, according to Belfast Live.
However, the Grinch seemed to put a dampener on Christmas after decorations were apparently smashed, party food ruined, and a mixture of washing-up liquid and juice coated both the floors and her son.
Describing the damage, the mum writes: "Every bit of party food expensive cupcakes threw all over the place tree decorations BROKE!!!
"Fairy up liquid poured on my kitchen floor eggs smashed and a full bottle of juice poured over my floor and SON!!!"
She added that she had contacted the company which had sent the troublesome Grinch but had received no reply.
But the viral post led to one local events company, LOC-Down Events Superheroes & Princess Hire, being contacted by shocked onlookers before confirming the furore wasn't of their making.

They clarified the post in question wasn't about their Grinch, who is a "movie quality Jim Carrey-style Grinch" set for performances, plays, and games – not for wrecking the homes of shocked parents.
The group added they "do not destroy any property at events or home visits."
LOC-Down Events Superheroes & Princess Hire said: "Please note there is a post making its rounds on Facebook regarding a Grinch that was hired for a home visit and destroyed the customer's property!!!
