Horrifying moment ‘out of control’ yob races through dark streets at 103mph

An "out of control" 21-year-old led police on a dangerous 103mph chase and threatened his own dad with a kitchen knife.

Brandon Weaver was described in Swansea Crown Court as an "immature" 21-year-old who leads a chaotic lifestyle and abuses alcohol, cannabis, cocaine, and Valium.

In the clip, recorded on February 26, Weaver leads police on a 15-mile pursuit in south Wales after failing to stop in his VW Golf, taking a number of bends on the wrong side of the road.

The court heard he reached speeds of 103mph on the A645 – including through a section of roadworks – before the pursuit came to an end at the Hirwaun roundabout when the front nearside wheel of the VW came off.

Police were able to box in the car and drag Weaver out, Wales Online reports.

The court heard that two months after the car chase, on April 29, Weaver turned up at his parents' house in Glynneath at 4.30am in breach of a restraining order and grabbed a kitchen knife which he threatened to stab his dad with.

John Allchurch, for Weaver, said in recent years the defendant's life had been "out of control".

He said a pre-sentence report described the defendant as an "immature" 21-year-old, and it found a number of problems in his life including homelessness, mental health issues, a chaotic lifestyle, and the abuse of various narcotics.

Weaver has previous convictions for driving with excess alcohol and criminal damage and, according to his lawyer, his family is worried for him.

Judge Huw Rees said it was clear Weaver's life had "spiralled out of control" in recent times and he told the defendant he had shown a deliberate disregard for other road users when he had driven the Golf.

He jailed Weaver for a total of 20 months and disqualified him from driving for 34 months.
