Inside how Kate Middleton is preparing Prince George for big Coronation moment

Prince George is set for a starring role at King Charles' Coronation, with Kate Middleton now preparing her eldest for the big day.

George, nine, is to be one of Charles and Queen Camilla's pages at Westminster Abbey on May 6.

As second in line to the throne, it was always likely George would be heavily involved in the historic event. But it will be no doubt daunting for the young lad.

Speaking to The Mirror, royal expert Ingrid Seward gave her take on how Kate will be preparing him.

"As one of four Pages of Honour, the nine-year-old will have had to learn about the six stages of his grandfather’s Coronation in preparation for the big day," she said.

Ingrid explained these lessons likely took place over the Easter Holidays, with all three children taught a simplified version of what they will be witnessing on the day.

She reckons Kate and William will be "re-enacting parts" in a bid to make sure George "won’t be too daunted by his responsibilities".

Ingrid also says the Waleses have embraced modern technology to get their son ready.

She explained: "There are no actual rehearsals until much nearer the time and instead they have been advised to use the virtual online tour of the Abbey as a guide for George.

"If he can visualise where he is supposed to go and what to do, it will reduce any nerves he might feel being the youngest page."

One thing George will definitely have to get used to is his outfit, likely to be a red coat with white breeches and buckled shoes.

Ingrid added: "Prince Michael of Kent, who was 11 at the late Queen’s Coronation, recalls his buckle shoes and dark green velvet jacket and how his school friends teased him about wearing ‘fancy dress.’ No doubt George has had a bit of teasing too.

"But on the day, he will have the last laugh over his friends. When they watch on TV he will be there and they won’t. He will certainly never forget it."
