Man dies trying to break into his own apartment after leaving his keys inside

A man died in a freak horror accident after he tried to break into his own apartment when he forgot his keys.

The 49-year-old, whose name has not been disclosed, left his keys inside his flat in Moscow, local media reports.

But when he tried to climb from a neighbour’s balcony, he reportedly suffocated in a noose he made from a rope to keep from falling down.

Russian newspaper MK reported the incident happened on Thursday, December 15, after the man had returned from walking his dog in the city.

When he got to the entrance of his apartment, he realised he’d forgot his keys, the paper reported.

He asked a neighbour for permission to climb from their fourth floor balcony to his flat below.

The paper says he then called a friend and asked him to bring him a car cable.

He then tied a rope around his waist and climbed over the balcony, while his neighbour held the other end.

But tragedy struck when he fell and hung in a noose level with the third floor and the cable got stuck in the crack of the window frame.

The man reportedly knocked on the windows on the third floor, but no one answered.

Eyewitnesses called rescuers and two men ran into the apartment to help the owner of the apartment to keep the hanging man until rescuers arrived.

But he was tragically pronounced dead at the scene by emergency services.

In 2016, a man who forgot his keys fell to his death while trying to gain access to his apartment in Alicante, Spain.

Neighbours filmed the 52-year-old, from Ecuador, as he attempted to climb down the side of the building and into his apartment using a rope.
