Meghan Markle’s father is reportedly making a documentary about his life – and that of his famous daughter.

Prince Harry and Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, may have signed a big bucks deal to create documentaries and other TV projects for Netflix, but it seems another member of the Markle family is keen to make a documentary of his own.

Thomas Markle, 76 – who had an Emmy award-winning career in the lighting department of the television world – is hoping to complete a documentary before the end of the year.

He is said to be hard at work collaborating with a cinematographer to bring his, and Meghan’s, life story to the screen.

Thomas is said to have gathered up footage from family videos to add to the documentary – which will form a basis of the “good life” he shared with his daughter.

According to The Sun, Thomas said: “It begins with my life, my family, my love of theatre and television and how I got there.

“Then my life with Meghan, growing up, her school days until she went off to college, and when her career began.

“We had a good life together, up through her first marriage and her move to Canada. Then a new story begins! It’s kind of like ‘What happened to my baby girl’.”

Thomas already participated in a documentary that was released on Channel 5 last year – but he says the flick he is creating himself will give a more accurate account of his life with his famous daughter.

He said: “My documentary will have some new videos and my favourite photo of my ‘baby girl’ and we try to figure out what went wrong. I think we will do a good job.”

News of his foray into the world of documentary making comes amid a bitter High Court battle between Thomas and his daughter over a personal letter which made it’s way into the public domain.

While Meghan and Harry fled the UK – along with their son Archie – last year in a bid to find a more private life away from the spotlight.

They have, ironically, since been making headlines over their multi-million pound deals to create content for both Netflix and Spotify.
