A mum shared the creative DIY gift she made her son for his 18th birthday online and parents and teens have become obsessed with it.
Aussie Caylan turned 18 last month and his mum made him an interesting DIY coming of age gift for his birthday which has received a lot of praise online.
She put together a notice board next to several different gift cards with a note beside each one – suggesting ideas for what he could do with them.
On the board, she wrote "for the road untravelled", for "car or fishing", "enjoy now you're 18", and finished it off with an Uber card for him to "get home safe".
The note read: "Happy 18th Caylan.
"Treat yourself to something for the road untravelled, for your car or fishing. Enjoy now you’re 18 and legal but get home safe. Love Dad, Alicia and Ava."
She had also pinned a MasterCard debit card, gift cards for Coles, Rebel Sport – and other brands – Liquorland and Uber.
Caylan's mum also shared a picture of the at-home set-up for his big day, complete with balloons, another gift boxed present and the notice board of gift cards.
Twin sisters who married identical brothers are both pregnant at the same time
Hundreds of people have seen the post and praised the mum for her creative efforts with some saying they'll replicate the idea for their children.
One wrote: "Fantastic idea. Beautifully put together and well thought out."
A second said: "This is the best! I've taken a picture of your design so I can try and do the same."
"That’s very cool. Great idea Hun I might just copy it," a third added.
