A mum shot dead her son and killed herself two days after wishing her friends a happy New Year saying "may you all find peace" on Facebook.
Texas police found 43-year-old Chelsee Dodd and her son Trace Dodd, 10, dead at the scene.
Her 16-year-old daughter was rushed to hospital with serious injuries after being found conscious and breathing at their home.
The suspected murder-suicide was discovered in a suburban home in Texas in the San Antonio suburb of New Braunfels, police said on Thursday.
On Tuesday Dodd wrote on Facbeook: "May you all find PEACE in the New Year! Merry Christmas from The Dodds!"
A photo of her son and daughter posing with candy canes was also posted.
The New Braunfels Police Department told KSAT Chelsee Dodd, 43, of New Braunfels, shot her two children before turning the gun on herself.
The woman and her 10-year-old son Trace were pronounced dead at the scene, the television station reported.
Police said Chelsee Dodd’s 16-year-old daughter was still conscious and breathing at the scene, KABB reported. She was taken to an area hospital with a life-threatening gunshot wound, it added.

Autopsies have been ordered for both those found dead.
It was a shocking scene when officers responses to a report of gunfire.
“Officers arrived on scene and found three people suffering from gunshot wounds in what is being investigated as an apparent homicide/suicide,” the police department says.

“A 16-year old female was found conscious and breathing with a serious, possibly life-threatening gunshot wound and she was transported by ground EMS to University Hospital.”
A motive for the shooting has not yet been revealed by police.
The mother worked as a real estate agent, her LinkedIn states, and was selling homes for Fathom Realty in San Antonio at the time of her death.

She began working at the company in January of this year, the page indicates.
Dodd previously worked for nine months as an agent at Taylor-Elliott Real Estate in New Braunfels and as a licensed realtor for a year at Keller Williams Realty, Inc. in Waco, according to her LinkedIn. Her Facebook says she earned a bachelor of business administration degree from St. Mary’s University in San Antonio and went to Tom C. Clark High School.
Dodd wished everyone ‘Peace in the New Year’ on Facebook just two days before the shooting. It was accompanied by a picture of her two children.
In a statement, New Braunfels Independent School District Superintendent Randy Moczygemba confirmed that Trace Dodd attended Veramendi Elementary School.
His sister is enrolled at New Braunfels High School, KENS-TV reported.
“A crisis counselling team has been assembled at both schools and we encourage you to talk to your child about their feelings upon hearing this news,” Moczygemba stated. “Every child will react in different ways and we want to make sure they have the support they need. If your child is in need of someone to speak to at school, please know that the counsellors will be on site and ready to assist them.”
