A mum who groomed a vulnerable teenager with graphic messages was jailed for 6 years – and put on the Sex Offender Register for life.
Laura Bardsley, 26, had sex with the boy at least 15 times and even took him to a hotel for a night after befriending the child's parents.
Before the hotel stay she Googled "unprotected sex" and "morning after pill", reports the Manchester Evening News.
The abuse began in lockdown last year when Bardsley used the boy's "complex vulnerabilities and needs" to establish a personal relationship, Greater Manchester Police said.
She began sending sexual messages and invited the boy to the home she shared with her two children and an adult partner.
Ex-care worker Bardsley used problems in her own relationship to gain sympathy from the boy's parents.
The victim's mum told Minshull Crown Court her son began "spending all his free time at the defendant's address" and lost interest in his hobbies.
And when she found love letters exchanged between the two, Bardsley was arrested.
She was bailed on the condition she not contact the boy, but failed to comply and was spotted by officers when the teen skipped school to spend time with her.
Bardsley also contacted the 15-year-old from prison with a hidden phone.
She pleaded guilty to two counts of non-penetrative sex with a child, two counts of penetrative sexual activity with a child, harassment of a child and using an illicit mobile phone in prison.
Bardsley told the court: "I am disgusted and hate myself.
"It shouldn't have happened. I destroyed their lives."
Judge Bernadette Baxter in sentencing told Bardsley that as a mother she should have known better.
"This boy was 15 and extremely vulnerable and was someone who you knew was easy to exploit and for your own selfish and manipulative ends.
"You decided to exploit this boy to provide yourself with some sexual satisfaction and emotional comfort."
