Prince William and Kate Middleton have been hailed 'the world's most glamorous royal couple' by a royal expert.
The praise from royal commentator Richard Fitzwilliams comes as a birthday treat for the Duke of Cambridge, who is celebrating his 40th today (June 21).
Speaking exclusively to the Daily Star, Fitzwilliams gushed over William and Kate's partnership and ability to represent the UK with excellence abroad.
He dubbed them the "most glamorous royal couple", with the Cambridges thus beating Prince Harry and Meghan Markle to that title, in Fitzwilliams' opinion.
He said: "Prince William’s inspiration, as he has said, is the Queen. His partnership with Catherine and the way they work together, on charitable issues and on foreign tours, is perfection.
"Catherine has not only been wonderfully supportive, but has also grown in confidence, especially as a speaker. They are also the world’s most glamorous royal couple.
"This helps spread the word and is also useful for soft power, as the government uses their visits abroad to promote goodwill."
In what was possibly their most glamorous appearance ever, William and Kate stepped out with Prince Charles and Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, at the world premiere for James Bond: No Time To Die in September last year.
The royals met stars Daniel Craig and Rami Malek on the red carpet at the Royal Albert Hall in London.
Kate dazzled onlookers in a £2,800 custom-made Jenny Packham dress, as well as £290 Onitaa earrings (which were made in Pakistan) and £555 Aquazzura leather pumps.
Both William and Charles opted for suave black tuxedos, whereas Camilla wore a pale blue Bruce Oldfield gown.
The couple also mingled with celebs at the recent premiere of the new Top Gun film, starring Tom Cruise, who the Kate and William both met.
At the Earthshot Prize awards in October both William and Kate wore recycled outfits.
William turned up a pair of trousers that he’d had for 20 years and Kate donned a lilac Alexander McQueen dress made for her in 2011.
William and Kate will be moving to Windsor to be closer to the Queen after his birthday, according to reports.
The Cambridge family are rumoured to be relocating from the extensively refurbished Kensington Palace to Adelaide Cottage on the Queen's Berkshire estate.
