Prince William made ‘passive aggressive’ remark to actor who flirted with Kate

Prince William and Kate Middleton have been married since 2011, and have been known each other for more than 20 years.

It’s no surprise that the Duke of Cambridge is quite protective of his wife – and he isn’t afraid to show it.

Jack Whitehall recalled a chat with Prince William after he had made an “inappropriate” comment to the Duchess of Cambridge.

The comedian attended the same private boarding school, Marlborough College, with Kate, who was a few years older.

He brought up their shared education at the Royal Variety Performance in 2014, but also shared an “inappropriate” secret.

In front of the huge crowd, Jack explained their shared history: “I’m very excited to be here. I’m especially excited to be here performing in front of the Duchess of Cambridge.

“This is genuinely true, this is so exciting. We were actually at school together. This is true. We went to the same school.

“I was a bit younger than you, but this is the first time I’ve seen you since school, so hello.”

Kate, who was sitting in the crowd, could be seen laughing and gave a little wave.

But instead of stopping there, Jack continued, confessing: “I don’t know whether it’s appropriate given the circumstances, but you were probably my first ever crush.”

After receiving a stern look from Prince William, he added: “Okay, definitely inappropriate. Your Highness is giving me a sharp look.”

After the show Prince William brought the flirting up with Jack.

The comedian said during a chat with Jonathan Ross: “William came over and he was very funny, he was very nice but very passive aggressive and said 'Oh, so you were flirting with my missus? Oh no that was very funny!’”

He also admitted that although Kate was “the one that got away”, he never stood a chance with her.

Jack explained: “She was a lot older than me. She was in sixth form – it was never going to happen, I was in a head brace!”
