Queens closest aides including 6ft 4 Tall Paul by her side amid health scare

The Queen is being helped back to full health by her loyal aides who have stayed with her since the tragic death of her husband Prince Philip.

Paul Whybrew, who is known as Her Majesty’s favourite courtier, has been watching television with the head of state as she rests.

The helper, who is known in the palace as "Tall Paul" due to his huge 6ft 4in frame, is the only person trusted to touch the Queen’s jigsaw puzzles.

Another favourite aide to the Queen, dresser Angela Kelly, is said to be a near constant presence by her side, reports the Mail on Sunday.

Both Paul and Angela have worked hard to earn their reputation as the Queen’s favourite aide.

Back in 1982, Paul wrestled Michael Fagan to the floor when the intruder infamously broke into the Queen’s Buckingham Palace bedroom.

He then calmed him down and offered him a whisky.

Paul, whose official title is Page of the Backstairs, walked behind his boss her scene with Daniel Craig as a James Bond sketch for the opening of the London 2012 Olympic Games.

Meanwhile, Angela – the daughter of a Liverpool docker – is held in such high regard by the monarch that she was given special permission to write a book on her 20 years in the palace.

Members of the public have flocked to bless the Queen with get well messages after the news she pulled out of climate COP26 talks on doctor’s advice.
