The owner of an ice cream shop that has become famous on social media for its lavish desserts says she was left in tears after a "horrible" customer had a foul-mouthed rant at her on one of the business' busiest days.

Charlie Smark owns the popular Dolly's Desserts in Market Kitchen, Barnsley, South Yorkshire alongside her mum.

The company has a hugely popular TikTok account which showcases their ice creams and desserts which has racked up an incredible 660,000 followers with 23 millions likes on its content.

On the page, they regularly share clips showing gelato, waffles, crepes and orders being made by Charlie and staff.

They have seen people travel from the other side of the country to get a taste of the ice cream that they have to offer, YorkshireLive reports.

But Charlie said it all got too much on Tuesday when she posted an emotional messge on her TikTok page after an experience with a "horrible" customer who left her in tears during the recent heatwave.

She fumed that she was fed up of people thinking they can talk to hospitality staff however they want.

Charlie said: "I am literally fed up with people thinking that just because you work for the general public you can be spoken to like literal s*** off a shoe.

"Because recently it has really been pushing me to the edge. Someone called one of our staff members a 'f****** useless cow' the other day.

"And then recently today, it was the busiest day that we've had, we got a really big rush at about an hour before closing.

"We were running out of loads of stuff as it's a Tuesday so we were waiting for our new orders tomorrow morning.

"The electric kept tripping as we have loads of machines plugged in, we are waiting for an electrician. We finally stopped serving at 5.30pm and they came at like 5.50pm.

"We were like I am really sorry but we have stopped serving hot food now but you can have scoops of ice cream or milkshakes to takeaway or like brownies and stuff.

"Just to give us time to clean the machines down.

"She was like well I've travelled three hours, I want to speak to someone with some f****** common sense.

"TikTok is f******* a scam, I'm going to let everyone know on TikTok how s*** they are.

"I literally went to the toilet and just cried."

The videos on TikTok show followers how Dolly's make some of their treats in the shop and what homemade gelato they have on offer.
