Teen, 19, knifed to death near London college after paramedics tried to save him

A young man has been stabbed to death near a London college, despite paramedics and medical crews scrambling to try to save hiim.

The 19-year-old was found with stab wounds in Paddington Green, W2.

Officers from Metropolitan Police as well as medics from the London Ambulance service and the London Air Ambulance Service raced to the incident, at around 9.15pm.

Despite their best efforts, he died at the scene less than hour later.

It's believed the stabbing took place near Church Yard Walk, and a cordon is in place near the City of Westminster College.

A crime scene has been erected and people are asked to avoid the area.

His next of kin has been informed.

Met Police say additional police officers will be dispatched in the area in the coming hours following the knife attack.

A section 60 has been issued, which allows officers additional powers.

The order is in place until 7am tomorrow, (Saturday, February 27).

Photos following the incident show multiple police cars and at least two police vans.

The road has been shut off from oncoming traffic.

A crowd of residents have also gathered near the cordon.

At this stage, there have been no arrests.

A murder investigation has been launched by the force while enquiries continue.
