Cold, cloudy spells are top of the order for the UK’s weather outlook this week. The penultimate week of November should begin to introduce lower temperatures with snow a possibility for some high ground areas. Here’s your full guide to what you can expect weather-wise in the UK for the next few days.

Has the heating already been turned on in your house this year? If not, the next week may be the point that starts to change.

Some areas could start to experience snow as we begin to head into the winter months.

Below we take a look at what the Met Office is predicting as the outlook for UK weather this week.

Tonight and Tuesday

The north of the UK is to become increasingly cloudy with a few spots of rain or drizzle predicted for some areas.

However, clear skies in the South mean widespread frost and a few patches of fog should greet southern residents tomorrow morning.

Moving into tomorrow cloud will remain in the North but also begin to spread southerly.

Brief spells of drizzle may appear for some coastal and hillside regions, whilst sunny skies should persist for most areas of the South.

Wednesday to Friday

To begin with, the South-east can expect settled periods of fog.

Rain will then begin to spread further South, which should be followed by sunshine and blustery showers.

At this point, wintry conditions will start to be felt in the north of the UK and remain heading into the weekend.

Temperatures in the north of England and Scotland could drop to as low as 5C by Friday morning.

Meanwhile, the outlook for the rest of the UK looks to be unsettled.

The weekend

Friday should bring with it rainy conditions to the North-west which will extend south to affect many areas throughout the day.

The big news is that some rain could fall as snow on higher ground in the north.

Scattered showers are then likely to follow later.

The North-west will continue to feel rather cold over the weekend which could be amplified by strong coastal winds.

High zones of pressure are likely to remain for the South and South-west so rain and showers are more probable for northern areas.

These showers could again turn wintry on higher ground and potentially at lower levels at times.

Drier conditions should prevail in the South with widespread frost expected most mornings.
