Woman shot in Jefferson County, authorities are looking for a suspect

A woman was shot in Jefferson County on Saturday morning and a suspect was last seen fleeing through a field off of South Sheridan Boulevard.

The shooting happened in the 3600 block of South Sheridan Boulevard, according to an 8:55 a.m. Saturday tweet by the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office. Authorities issued a shelter in place order for the immediate area. The victim suffered a “possible life-threatening injury” and was taken to a hospital.

The shelter in place order, for the Bear Valley Club apartment complex, has been lifted, the sheriff’s office said at 10:50 a.m. on Twitter. The suspect remains at large.
