WWE are reportedly "working on a deal" to feature Cristiano Ronaldo at their next Saudi Arabia show.

Details on the event are scarce so far, though November of this year is listed as a potential return for the wrestling brand in Saudi Arabia. Should they head over once more after May's Night of Champions, they may be hoping to bring Cristiano Ronaldo into their plans.

Allegedly hoping to bag the Ballon d'Or winner for a featured spot at their Crown Jewel show, the WWE is reportedly working hard to sign the footballer to an appearance. Ronaldo currently plays for Saudi Arabia league team Al Nassr.

WWE's new owners are reportedly keen to draft in the footballing legend for a brief appearance at the event. Endeavour, who also own UFC, are hoping Ronaldo will make for a large revenue boost should he agree to a WWE visit.

Should Ronaldo find himself featuring in WWE programming, it would mark another in a successful lineup of sporting personalities taking themselves to the squared circle. Other high profile sporting personalities including Ronda Rousey and Mike Tyson have featured in a variety of bouts in the wrestling world.

More recently, ex-Bundesliga footballer Tim Wiese made the switch from footballing to wrestling after an invitation from Triple H to join the WWE developmental facilities. A brief stint in the company soon followed.

Though he may not have shined when he teamed with Sheamus and Cesaro in a bizarre six-man tag team match back in 2016, it was one of many instances in the company's history a non-wrestler has tried their hand in the ring.
