One of the biggest shows on the Japanese wrestling scene is coming to the UK on Friday, thanks to the Extreme Sports Channel.

New Japan Pro Wrestling's Destruction in Kobe 2023 will air just five days after the live event. The event will showcase some of the world’s most renowned professional wrestlers such as elite British athletes Will Ospreay, Zack Sabre Jr and Gabriel Kidd.

They will be ppearing alongside other international world-class wrestlers such as Naito, Shingo Takagi, Jeff Cobb, Great O Khan. Current NJPW World TV Champion Zack Sabre Jr., the self-proclaimed “greatest technical wrestler of all time” and resident NJPW bad guy, said: “United Kingdom! Don’t be morons, make sure to watch Destruction in Kobe on Friday 29 at 7pm, exclusively on Extreme Sports Channel in the UK, via Pluto TV! Don’t miss out.”

Sabre Jr. will compete in a Tag Team Match as part of TMDK alongside Bad Boy Tito, against two members of the faction, CHAOS ( Kazuchika Okada and Tomohiro Ishii). Will Ospreay’s legendary summer saw him pick up wins over Kenny Omega, Kazuchia Okada, Shingo Takagi and Chris Jericho in a two-month span.

And after competing in his G1 Climax 33 semifinal, Ospreay took it upon himself to rename the International Wrestling Grand Prix Championship (IWGP), the IWGP United Kingdom Heavyweight Championship.

He said: “The belt doesn’t make the man, the man makes the belt, and I am sick to death of carrying something I have no attachment to. I don’t want to carry this (US) flag. I’ve been to America and been the best in the world. Canada, Europe, Australia and Japan, I am the best in the world. The best in the world is from the United Kingdom.”

Ospreay will defend his United Kingdom Heavyweight Championship against Yota Tsuji the in the main event, which will be his first defence of the title.
