Burano was included in a list of the most Instagrammable places to visit by experts at Faraway Furniture.<\/p>\n<p>The island in the Venetian Lagoon has a population of around 2,800 and is linked to Mazzorbo by a wooden footbridge.<\/p>\n<p>It has brightly coloured homes, which follow a specific system that requires permission from the government before painting. The island is considered among the most colourful places in the world.<\/p>\n<p>It is also known for its fine needle-lace work which began when Venice couldn\u2019t meet demand in the 1500s. Burano lace gained fame and was a status symbol for wealthy Europeans.
