An unsettling Baba Vanga prophecy may be unveiling before our very eyes following Israel’s declaration of war against Hamas.

Palestinian militant groups led by Hamas flooded over the border with Israel on October 7, kicking off a large-scale military offensive. The assault has led to an escalation with attacks having since gone the other way as Israeli jets carry out airstrikes in the Gaza Strip.

While violence has simmered between Israel and Hamas since 2007, the scale of this assault is regarded by many as the most ambitious carried out by the group. It is this scale that makes the words of Baba Vanga ring so chillingly in the ears.

Israel shares many similarities and worldviews with Europe and the US, which makes the late Bulgarian psychic’s visions about a “great Muslim war” with Europe so alarming. Also known as Vangelia Pandeva Dimitrova, Baba Vanga passed away in 1996 but her prophecies and predictions have gripped people ever since. Her followers are convinced that she predicted global warming and the 2004 Boxing Day tsunami.

She is also said by some to have predicted 9/11 when she said: "Horror, horror! The American brethren will fall after being attacked by the steel birds. The wolves will be howling in a bush and innocent blood will gush."

Her prediction regarding a “great Muslim war” is reported by the Independent to see Europe invaded, ending in the establishment of a Muslim caliphate by the year 2043. However, the certainty around the predictions of Vanga remain highly debated with some even claiming she didn’t say many of the things attributed to her – let alone whether or not they’ve been interpreted correctly.
