Israel has carried out airstrikes against two Syrian airports, rendering them out of service, according to Syrian state media.
Citing a military source, the Syrian Arab News Agency said: “The Israeli enemy carried out an air aggression on the two international airports of Damascus and Aleppo, taking them out of service.”
It added: “The source added that shelling the two airports that occurred simultaneously at 1.50pm this afternoon caused material damage to the airstrips which resulted in being out of service.”
Video circulating on social media purportedly shows the strike, with large plumes of smoke rising at the scene.
Israel has not commented on the alleged strikes. Tel Aviv does not typically comment on its military operations.

Since Hamas launched a massive terrorist attack prompting Israel to declare war, there have been fears that the conflict would spread throughout the region.
Hezbollah – a terrorist and political group in Lebanon – has fired across the northern border at Israeli forces several times since the crisis began.
Israel has responded by firing on Hezbollah’s observation posts in the area.
The United States has warned others in the region including Syria, Hezbollah and Iran not to interfere in the conflict.
Washington has moved an aircraft carrier strike group to the Eastern Mediterranean as a warning to those hell-bent on Israel’s destruction.
If Hezbollah, or even Syria and Iran, joined the war, it would mean Israel fighting on multiple fronts and could change the calculus in the Middle East.
Following the attack launched by Hamas, at least 1,200 Israelis have been killed while around 150 are thought to have been taken hostage.
Palestinian authorities have said at least 1,100 have died in Gaza.
